Historically, all account and license data was maintained exclusively within the European Union. For some US companies, this could require additional approval workflows or compliance reviews, extending purchasing cycles.
Since version 26.1, US customers can establish their account and license information storage directly within the United States. Daily engineering workflows remain completely unaffected. Users experience identical sign-in procedures, application functionality, and license access.
Stored Data and Regional Scope
The regional designation applies specifically to administrative and licensing data. The following information is stored within the designated region:
- User Credentials: User account and sign-in credentials.
- License Metadata: License information, including active products, features, seat counts, and registered hardware devices.
Verification and Configuration
The current storage region can be verified directly within the application:
- Open the License dialog.
- Sign in to your account.
- Locate the Data region field displayed directly below the username, which includes a regional flag and indicator ("United States" or "European Union") alongside the caption: “Where your license information is stored.”

The capability is designed mostly for license administrators, IT and procurement teams, and structural engineers at US-based companies. The data region is established during license creation at purchase, and every user subsequently added to that license automatically adopts its designated region, while accounts and licenses created prior to the deployment of regional data storage default to the European Union region.
